As BDA Partners already know, granite flooring has a low absorption rate of around 0.5%, while Cove Eternum Series granite has an even lower absorption rate of 0.03%, which means it absorbs even less water than typical granite flooring.

The shine on Cove Eternum Series granite tiles is not only due to its finishing, but also because of its low Water Absorption, which makes its surface non-porous, scratch-resistant, and impact-resistant. While typical granite has a Breaking Strength of ≥1300N for a thickness ≥7.5mm, Cove Eternum Series has a Breaking Strength of up to 2817N (Newton) for a thickness of 10.5mm. This indicates how hard Cove Eternum Series granite tiles are.

As for the surface, the typical Modulus of Rupture for granite flooring is ≥34 MPa (Megapascal). Cove Eternum Series has a Modulus of Rupture of 60 MPa, which means it is 1x more scratch-resistant. In terms of Flatness, regular granite usually reaches ≤ ±2 mm. On the other hand, Cove Eternum Series Flatness reaches +0.3mm. Lastly, regarding Abrasion Resistance, Cove Eternum is classified as Class 4, which is almost perfect given that the highest class is Class 5.
